People here dream of sunshine, beaches, and kangaroos casually hopping past their window (which, for the record, is not how Australia actually works). The short answer? Family. The global pandemic made the world feel smaller and bigger all at once, and when some of my family weren’t doing well, suddenly ✈️ a 24-hour flight felt way too far.
